Heat oven to 350, roast pecans on a baking sheet for 5 minutes.
Beat eggs lightly until combined. Stir in corn syrup, sugar, butter, cinnamon, nutmeg, and vanilla. Stir in pecan halves. Pour the filling into a 9 inch pie pan lined with a pastry crust. Cover the edges of the pie with foil. Bake at 350° for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and cook for an additional 20-25 minutes (until a knife inserted near the center comes out clean).
Remove, cool, and top with whipped cream when serving.
